All across the U.S., Jewish congregations are welcoming their communities to Shabbat services on Friday, Nov. 2, as part of the #ShowUpForShabbat movement. The campaign embraces unity in the face of the Saturday, Oct. 27 attack on Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue.
Congregants from Central Christian Church and Covenant Church of Jesus Christ in Terre Haute will join United Hebrew Congregation for Shabbat services at 7:30 p.m. Friday in our sanctuary.
Student Rabbi Jonathan Falco will officiate, beginning with a brief memorial service and El Maleh Rahamim to honor the Pittsburgh victims.
United Hebrew Congregation expresses its solidarity with the Tree of Life congregation in Pittsburgh, Pa., and our brothers and sisters in the entire Jewish community of Pittsburgh that has been the target of a horrific, anti-Semitic mass murder.

As a congregation, we are especially appreciative for the outpouring of support from the Terre Haute community. This support shows that in Terre Haute all are welcome, no matter who we are.
