This week’s Torah portion is Parashat Yitro (Exodus 18:1-20:23).
Caitlin writes: “In this week’s parasha, the Israelites stand at Sinai and receive the Ten Commandments. We will study this moment of Revelation through the eyes of various scholars and theologians, from medieval commentators to scholars of modern Jewish thought.
“In the course of our study, we will consider how Revelation has been understood throughout different places and times, and by different streams of Judaism.”

Caitlin writes, “This weekend, we will join together in celebration of not only Shabbat, but the holiday of Purim as well! This festive holiday celebrates the triumph of Esther and Mordechai over the evil, anti-Semitic vizier, Haman.
“In celebration of Purim, we will look at Megillat Esther and take a closer look at what really happens in this raucous tale!”
This week’s Torah portion is Parashat Tetzaveh.
Betsy Frank will conduct a virtual Torah study at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021, for United Hebrew Congregation.
This week’s Torah portion is Parashat Vayakhel-Pekudei.
Betsy will focus on the special reading for Shabbat Hakadosh from Exodus Chapter 12:1-20.
“We will incorporate some Talmud and arguments the sages used to formulate the Passover seder once the Temple was destroyed,” Betsy writes.

Caitlin says she will lead a discussion “focusing on Passover and the rabbinic texts that guide this holiday. We will start in Mishnah Pesachim 10 and branch out from there.”
This week’s Torah portion is Parashat Tzav.
Herschel Chait will lead Torah study from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, for United Hebrew Congregation.
“The study will begin with Leviticus Chapter 11, which deals with dietary laws, and is part of the weekly Torah portion, and will broaden to the concept of kosher,” Herschel writes.
This week’s Torah portion is Parashat Shmini.
