Jackie and Steve Silver celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, and Student Rabbi Aaron Rozovsky marked the occasion by calling the Silvers to to the bemah to participate in a special Torah reading during Friday Shabbat services.

‘Jewish Stances on Immigration’ highlights upcoming Torah study topics

Student Rabbi Aaron Rozovsky has announced discussion topics for upcoming Torah study sessions at Temple Israel and Westminster Village. Subjects at three sessions on Feb. 11 and Feb. 18 will include the timely “Jewish Stances on Immigration”; Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year for Trees; and Parshah Yitro.

Grandmother’s legacy is still unfolding

I was thinking (that isn’t always good), my grandmother was the oldest of seven sisters, around whom my family reunion is based. In writing the names down of all the people who were descended from my grandmother, I realized how important it was that my grandmother was born.
