United Hebrew Congregation Terre Haute is preparing for guests this weekend, as Temple Israel makes its debut on the Farrington’s Grove Holiday Tour, 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. The bi-annual tour marks the 40th anniversary of Farrington’s Grove Historical District, founded in 1976 under the sponsorship of the Terre Haute Redevelopment Department to promote preservation and improvement of the neighborhood’s historic homes.

Rabbi Aaron, Westminster Village crowd revel in Veterans Day Shabbat
In Army fatigues and camouflage yarmulke, Student Rabbi Rabbi Aaron Rozovsky delivered Shabbat to a packed house of seniors and their guests on Veterans Day at Westminster Village.
Rabbi Aaron drew energy from the diverse audience, which included numerous veterans of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, leading them through prayers, hymns and service songs, including some tailored to the holiday. After one hymn, he thanked the crowd for its response: “I felt like an Israeli Dean Martin up here!”
Director Feinsod pulls milk from Awake and Sing! set
Awake and Sing! completed its successful four-day run Saturday afternoon at the New Theater on the Indiana State University campus. And following the friendly opening-night activism of kashrut-sensitive audience members, the play’s final three performances continued with the notable absence of milchig and fleishig!
