Planting and sowing seeds are powerful acts. Every time I look at a mighty oak, a towering redwood or a beautiful willow, trees that could be hundreds if not thousands of years old, I am amazed that such natural wonders began as minute seedlings and fragile saplings.

As United Hebrew Congregation members and guests celebrate and endure the long Yom Kippur holiday, reward always awaits in the form of the Temple’s traditional break-fast.
This year, repentant and relieved worshipers joined Student Rabbi Aaron Rozovsky in the Vestry Room, where Sisterhood had filled the serving tables with bagels, lox, cream cheese, pickled herring, noodle kugel, capers, fruit and coffee.
