Summer has flown by and the High Holy Days are already upon us. A highlight of the New Year is that we extend a very warm welcome to our new student rabbi, Jonathan Falco.
The High Holy Days represents a time of reflection for each one of us and for our congregation as well.
Hello all!
My name is Jonathan Falco and I’m thrilled to serve as the student rabbi at UHC for the 2018-2019 year.
Born and raised in Westchester, N.Y., I was eager to leave the suburbs for college and studied at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., for my baccalaureate.
Student Rabbi Jonathan Falco will officiate High Holidays services in the sanctuary at United Hebrew Congregation for the New Year 5779, beginning with Erev Rosh Hashanah services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9.
Kol Nidre services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Sisterhood’s meeting in May was our last until September. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy! We’ll be playing host for our annual Good Cheer Club for the Blind Dinner at noon Wednesday, July 11.
Our May meeting featured a carry-in luncheon. We had a good turnout and great food. It is always fun to sample the different dishes our members bring.
We enjoy guests at our luncheons as well. This month, Jane Weiner’s husband Don was our guest. We were happy to welcome the Weiners back to Terre Haute for the summer.
